The current RALC project is a speeding initiative led by Cllr Keith Robertson, Chairman at Catsfield Parish Council in 2019/20. A discussion meeting to discuss what could be done and a subgroup of members formed to progress the project.
The work has been summarised in a paper presented to RALC in the July 2020 meeting, where it was proposed that Parishes consider purchase of a Black Cat Radar speeding collection device, which could be purchased either by individual councils or jointly by several Parish Councils. Data collected to be fed through from Keith to a Single Point of Contact (SPOC) in Rother Police, this person liaises with Keith as RALC’s SPOC with Rother Police. Catsfield Parish are acting as the test site, installed October 2020. In addition members are invited to submit data collected by SpeedWatch groups on hot spot locations (regular speeding at 40 or 45mph at a 30mph limit) to the Police via Keith.
